LKC Events From 2018


LKC announces its scholarship awardees for the 2018-2019 Academic Year. Krystal Hilts, Lititz has been awarded $1500 to continue her vet tech studies at York Technical Institute. Katherine Toliver, Cochranville, has been awarded $1500 to continue her vet tech studies at Harcum College. Kaitlyn Dreese, McClure, has been awarded $4000 to continue her studies of veterinary medicine at the University of Penn, New Bolton. Scholarships are offered annually with applications and information posted here on April 1 for the following academic year.


LKC members and their dogs attended "It's A Pet's Life Festival" on October 20, 2018. This event took place at one of the co-sponors, the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory located at 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. Lancaster County Pet Magazine was also a co-sponsor. LKC would also like to thank Dr. Krista Corey of Landisville Animal Hospital for providing micro-chipping services during the Festival. The Lancaster Kennel Club would like to thank Dr. Melissa Goodman, DVM of Veterinary Reproductive Services Philadelphia for an informative and enlightening Canine Reproductive Seminar on August 25. This was the first in what we hope to be a yearly seminar series hosted by Lancaster Kennel Club for the benefit of the Responsible Pure Bred Dog Breeder and Veterinary Professional. We also would like to thank all those who attended for their support and know that they left the seminar well informed with information for the benefit of our breeds. The 23rd Annual Red Rose Classic held in 1968 was recently featured in the LNP Sunday News' "Lancaster That Was" May 13 column. See the article and some junior handler photos here


LKC cohosted The Celtic Classic from March 14-18, 2018 at the York Expo and Fairgrounds. Over 9900 entries from almost 170 breeds and varieties were entered. Visit The Celtic Classic website to see photos from the show


At the February 14 General Membership meeting, LKC members voted to donate $2000 to help purchase a bulletproof vest for the Lancaster County Sheriff's Departmnet newest K-9 Officer, Diesel. Read about Diesel and Ronin, who has retired here or the LNP article about our donation here
